Provide leadership and oversight for the district’s live and pre-recorded broadcast productions while supporting student learning through Career and Technical Education (CTE) programming. Collaborate with district departments and campuses to enhance and promote student activities, programs, and events through high-quality broadcast media.
Education/Certification:
Bachelors from Accredited University
Valid Texas teaching certificate preferred – Secondary Tech Apps 8-12
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Extensive knowledge with production software and hardware
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of basic computer hardware and software applications
Knowledge or experience with basic website maintenance
Ability to work closely with administrators, office staff, and coaches at middle and high school campuses
Ability to troubleshoot and correct basic technology-related problems
Ability to assist coaches with issues associated with live stream and athletic campus technology
Knowledge in Google Suite (docs, sheets, forms, etc.)
Ability to work in Adobe Creative Cloud (Specifically Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Illustrator)
Experience:
Minimum of three years of experience in a school district setting is preferred
Minimum of three years of live production experience is preferred
Experience in leading a team with a strategic, big-picture vision
Experience in live production environment
Experience working with students
Broadcast Production:
Plan, coordinate, and produce live and pre-recorded district athletic broadcasts.
Serve as lead producer and primary contact for all district broadcast productions.
Oversee production operations at David Kuykendall Stadium, including serving as Production Engineer.
Develop production schedules, scripts, and workflows for athletic events and district productions.
Produce and manage live broadcast streams for varsity athletic events and other designated district events, including graduation ceremonies.
Coordinate and supervise production crews to ensure high-quality broadcast delivery.
Oversee implementation and operation of automated camera systems for district facilities.
Student Program Support / CTE Collaboration:
Coordinate, supervise, and evaluate student internship/practicum experiences within the CTE sports broadcasting program, ensuring alignment with program requirements.
Support and collaborate with CTE instructors and district partners to deliver aligned broadcast and media production learning experiences.
Collaborate with CTE instructors to provide meaningful, hands-on broadcast production opportunities for students.
Train and supervise student broadcast participants in live production roles and responsibilities.
Promote student engagement and participation in broadcast production opportunities through CTE coursework and districtwide initiatives.
Support and oversee the districtwide student broadcast club.
Partner with campus broadcast teachers to ensure alignment and growth of broadcast programs across campuses.
Event Production and Cross-Department Collaboration:
Collaborate with Athletics, Fine Arts, Student Services, Communications, and other departments to plan and produce district events.
Coordinate and produce special event broadcasts, including (but not limited to) athletic events, Fine Arts showcases, and district programs.
Support planning and execution of large-scale district productions and live streams.
Coordinate logistics, including scheduling and student participation, for events and UIL-related activities.
Technology and Operations:
Provide training and technical support for broadcast equipment and software across district campuses.
Oversee installation, programming, maintenance, and upgrades of broadcast production systems and equipment.
Support campus-based broadcast programs through ongoing technical assistance and training.
Manage and maintain broadcast production equipment, including mobile production units and inventory systems.
Provide operational oversight for athletic broadcast technology, including coordination with the Athletics Technology Specialist.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to live production and streaming systems..
Media Production and Communications Support:
Develop and produce digital media assets to support district and athletic communications, including broadcast graphics, promotional content, and streaming materials.
Support district messaging by enhancing visibility of student activities, programs, and achievements through broadcast media.
Assist with distribution and publication of recorded productions and digital content.
