PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Structured Learning Class (SLC):
Work with school faculty and staff, students, parents, and community to plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive developmental guidance and counseling program at school assigned. Counsel students to fully develop each student’s academic, career, personal, and social abilities and address the needs of students.

Implement the special education evaluation process. Assess the educational learning styles and program needs of students referred for special education services. Provide diagnostic information and work cooperatively with instructional personnel to provide the most appropriate programs for students with disabilities. Coordinate all aspects of the child-centered special education process on assigned campus(es) and ensure that the Admission, Review and Dismissal (ARD)/Individualized Education Program (IEP) process and the quality of programs for students with disabilities are in compliance with federal, state and local requirements.

Plan and provide speech-language pathology services to students with speech sound disorders, fluency, voice and/or language disorders. Implement the special education evaluation process and provide therapeutic intervention to remediate or reduce deficits that impact a student’s ability to derive full benefit from the educational program.
Direct and manage the instructional program and supervise operations and personnel at the campus level. Provide leadership to ensure high standards of instructional service. Oversee compliance with district policies, success of instructional program, and operations of all campus activities.

The ESL Teacher will assist with closing the English Learner (EL) student achievement gap and accelerate learning for EL students by building content teacher capacity through job-embedded professional learning and implementation of effective language-rich instructional practices. Under the supervision of the ESL Coordinator and in conjunction with the campus administrative staff, the ESL teacher supports and provides job embedded training and capacity building in order to improve classroom linguistic instruction that leads to improved English Learner student achievement. Supervise and manage the school library. Engage learners through the use of print and digital resources to access, create, and share content as well as collaborate with other learners as global citizens. Collaborate with teachers to design engaging learning experiences to integrate digital citizenship and information literacy skills into instruction. Serve as teacher, materials expert, and curriculum adviser to ensure that the library is involved in instructional programs of the school. Set the tone for creating a campus community of readers and lifelong learners.
